actually it was a bit outdated because i just tried it last night.. i accidentally open a docx file into open office and they supported it already.. such a lame kid i didn't expect that open office will support this brand new format that microsoft established!! maybe i just missed their change log.

i have a question in my mind maybe you can give your opinion about this.. do you observe that every fie format for office that microsoft released have been supported by open source office suite? but not vice versa right? geez... maybe open source office suites can create a format that even microsofyt will not refuse to adapt....

Yes, it does that now.  OpenOffice developers try to adapt all Microsoft formats so that OpenOffice users can easily adopt.  On the other hand, MS Office developers are trying to copy new features from OpenOffice such as PDF exporting.  I think it's a war that's gonna lost long.

For me, I vote OpenOffice!

i've read in an article on  manila bulletin that openoffice are now developing version 3.0 with importing of pdf files.. sounds good!! hehe i think microsoft will consider this!!

check this link for all the change logs of Open Office 3.0 beta hope they will release the stable version soon...
the importing of pdf files will be included on the full version i can't wait...
